Not super ISU-related, but if you have Flo, there is an interesting tourney going on this weekend in State College.

Club teams are competing a a dual format. Weights run from 34kg to 129kg and ages are from middle-school (or maybe less) to graduated seniors.

Team Sebolt looked really strong winning their pool. I think they are done for the day and will compete in a bracketed format tomorrow. I think they will have a good shot at placing. 2nd place in their pool was coached by David Taylor. I'm sure he's being paid well, but it was kind of cool seeing perhaps the best wrestler in the world right now coaching kids, wiping mats, etc....just giving back to the sport.

Paniro Johnson went 3-1 on the day. The match he lost, I felt he should have been much farther ahead and controlled the entire match until he got neck-wrenched to his back with :02 to go in the match and lost 5-4. Learning experience I guess. I don't think there are any other ISU commits there, but I may have missed someone.

I thought the MWC/Sebolt dual would have been closer than 61-18. Antrell Taylor, the Nebraska commit was very impressive to me.

I think Team Sebolt is going against Taylor's 'A' team in the semis. They went something like 65-4 in individual matches yesterday. Should be a fun match.

Team Sebolt goes down 41-39 in the Semi's. Real exciting match. Going into the last 3 matches, Sebolt had to pretty much win all 3. Down 6-0, Gammell came back to win 7-6, then got a pin from Kueter to go up 39-37. M2 Magicians had the #1 220 lber Feldman (Ohio St) at 129kg. Bradley Hill gave him a good match and there were some questionable calls, but ended up losing by tech. If he would have kept it to a regular decision, the meet would have ended up tied. Not sure what the tiebreaker criteria is. Sebolt won more matches 10-9, but M2 had more bonus points.

Did the other team lose a team point at the end? Looks like a tech fall gave them 4 points.

Ben Keuter had a good tournament. I think he beat the #2 rated 195 in the national. Carroll?

Yep, pinned him. Lost twice, to the #5 and #11 kids. It'll be interesting to see what they do with the national rankings, but a big win nonetheless.

Isn't it if you TF a kid 10-0, you get 4 points and if you TF a kid 13-3, you get 4 points and the opponent gets 1 point for not being shut out?

I assume they used this formula:

5-0 for a fall
4-0 for a tech with a shutout
4-1 for a tech with opponent scoring
3-0 for a shutout decision
3-1 for a decision with opponent scoring
