Woman is bat **** crazy no doubt. We don't know what happened prior to the recording to cause the out burst. But their are a few things we can pull from the video.

First the store employees were aware of the situation and were attempting to defuse it. Then when an employee requested she stop recording hoping the lady having a breakdown would calm herself. The woman stated she was recording to document the incident. Choosing to post it on social media confirms that wasn't her motive.

I wondered the same thing. I read an article that said the women who was video taping was looking at a shelf, and then the Karen stepped in front of her to look at the same shelf in a way that was rude and oblivious to her surroundings.

In summation nobody knows what caused the situation, whatever the cause the Karen overreacted as many stated

Nope. The cops got involved and Karen pretty much painted herself as a victim.

My biggest takeaway was how Karen first looked around for attention, then gently laid herself down in a "faint", carefully ensuring that her purse formed a pillow for her head. I have seen people faint. It's NEVER that graceful.

You'd be amazed - or maybe you wouldn't - at how many people fake injuries in businesses just to get some $$. Usually anyone working in the ER knows who they are.

I had a SIL (now ex-SIL) that would have "seizures". They conveniently happened at family get-togethers. She was the first I've known that was able to look around and see who was watching while she had one. She made a miraculous, full and instant recovery once my BIL divorced her!

So the question remains what happened to set Karen off? Regardless the video shows the person recording wanted to escalate the situation to increase views.

I don't see how posting to social media somehow confirms in your mind that she wasn't recording to document it. She tried to get police to watch it to prove to them that white lady assaulted her, but they refused multiple times, so she went to social media to share the injustice she experienced. She was 100% in the right to keep recording for her own protection. White lady even accused her of attacking her, so having video evidence directly contrary to that accusation is pretty valuable.

I didn't see any physical assault in the video. Did I miss something?

She lunged at her a few times, to the point where an employee had to step between them. I'm not sure which video(s) you've seen, but there's 8 parts out there, totaling about 20 minutes and including her trying to file a report with the PD.

Yeah she 100% did the right thing by recording what was happening.
Later clips show her recording the police talking to Karen. I get that they were trying to defuse the situation, but at no point did they suggest that Karen leave the mall. Rather, they offered to escort her target from the mall "for her safety". The woman with the video cam pointed out that if the races were reversed, the outcome would have been entirely different, and I tend to agree with her.
