Like last year, the key is going to be pitching. Starting pitching really looks like an unknown at this time. I also think that, just like from 2014 to 2015, bullpen production almost has to go down. That doesn't mean that they might not still have one of the best pens in the game, that level of production is almost impossible to maintain for years.
They have obviously proven that their unique offensive style can be effective at the Major League level. Like last year though, it will take large contributions from the corners and DH spot. If all of these things can be close to the level they were at last year, they can stay close into September, then we could see October baseball at the K for the third year in a row. Which might be the formation of a mini dynasty in KC.
