What happens when the offense is just as bad next year? UI fans will want to bring him back
If true Iowa will have to promote from within or resurrect some former OC to take it over again. No way some young up-and-comer will come to Iowa to take that position.

Hearing that he is resigning, but will finish the year.
That would really surprise me. He could do the same thing in 4 weeks and not look like he is quitting on his offense in mid-season.

The only logical reason for announcing now is that Iowa's offense woes have seriously hurt recruiting and existing players are known to be looking to enter portal.

They both need to go. KF has had his run. He's going to hate the new B1G and won't have the weak West to hide in.
I'm shocked this view doesn't seem to be talked about more from an Iowa perspective (and maybe it is more on Iowa boards idk). What happens after Kirk leaves should be talking point #1, and that's not to demean what he's done. But with a new AD incoming and the changes to the B1G it's unavoidable and shouldn't be treated like it's a sensitive topic.
