T.J. Otzelberger‘s first roster at Iowa State added another major piece on Monday.

The Cyclones landed a pledge from Kansas transfer wing Tristan Enaruna according to a report from ESPN’s Jonathan Givony. The commitment leaves Iowa State with one open scholarship for the 2021-22 season.

Enaruna, a 6-foot-9 Netherlands native, was a four-star member of the 2019 recruiting class considered the No. 64 player in the country and No. 15 small forward by 247Composite. He chose the Jayhawks over offers from Creighton, Illinois, Miami and a few other major programs.

After a prep career at Wasatch Academy in Utah, Enaruna spent two seasons with the Jayhawks, appearing in 55 contests while averaging 2.6 points and 1.9 rebounds in 10.2 minutes per game.

The addition of Enaruna gives Iowa State versatility on the wings after the transfer addition of guards Gabe Kalscheur and Caleb Grill, frontcourt pieces in Aljaz Kunc and Robert Jones plus the recommitment of Tyrese Hunter.

Enaruna can be expected to split time on the wing with returners Javan Johnson and former Ole Miss transfer Blake Hinson, who missed all of last season with a health issue.
