At least one former Cyclone will have the opportunity to show off his talents in front of NFL scouts on the league’s biggest stage — sort of.

Tight end Dylan Soehner announced on Monday he has been invited to participate in this year’s NFL scouting combine, which the league announced last month will take place virtually due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic rather than its usual site in Indianapolis.

The honorable mention All-Big 12 selection in 2020 was one of only a few Cyclone seniors to elect not to return for an extra year of eligibility next fall. The 6-foot-7, 272-pound tight end certainly did a lot for his draft stock during this past fall when he helped lead one of the best tight end rooms in the country.

Soehner career-highs with 18 receptions for 205 yards receiving in 2020 to finish his collegiate career with 26 catches for 312 yards and one touchdown. He was equally as valuable as a blocker and what his versatility allowed Iowa State to do offensively with one, two and three tight end personnel.
