RECRUITING: Iowa State lands Davenport Assumption offensive lineman

Iowa State landed one of the most highly sought after in-state recruits on Saturday when Davenport Assumption offensive lineman Tyler Maro announced his commitment to Matt Campbell’s program.

Maro, 6-foot-7, 260 pounds, chose the Cyclones over offers from 35 other programs, including Arizona State, Cal, Indiana, Kansas State, Nebraska, Oregon, Oklahoma State, Stanford, TCU, Utah and many others. He is considered the No. 10 player in Iowa and No. 50 offensive tackle in the country by 247Sports.

He is the highest-rated commitment in Iowa State’s 2021 recruiting class expected to sign their letters of intent this week. He is the fifth in-state player to join the class rated as the No. 49 recruiting class in the country.
